Direct continuation of the education from the country of origin (e.g. a child who completed grade 4 should start grade 5 in the new country) may be a strategy preferred and requested by the parents, but not necessarily the best strategy for the child in the long run.

It is worth considering if another option (“repeating” a grade, preparatory class, etc.) would not be more supportive and beneficial for the child.
