What Achievements Child Had?
Ask both the child and the parents about successes and achievements the child had in the previous school. It will make it easier to plan her/his individual curriculum in the new school, focusing not only on deficits that need to be met, but also on her/his strong points and skills that she/he already has.
This will allow the child to feel more effective and self-confident: qualities that are often scarce in a completely new and overwhelming situation.
