Culturally sensitive? Fair?
Even if you don’t realise it constantly, there are dozens of rules and regulations in your school, of both official and informal nature.
This is obviously natural and essential for every kind of public institution, it is important, however, to critically reflect on the question whether the present rules and norms are open towards students from varies background and if they are able to participate in the school life fully without a need to violate their own traditional/cultural rules and their identity.
Is it possible to broaden the school rules to make them flexible enough to meet the needs of a diverse community? For instance, can you think of an inclusive way of celebrating holidays such as Christmas? Is it possible for the school canteen to serve food adjusted to students’ diet, etc.?
