Language sensitivity

As mentioned also in other chapters of our materials, language sensitivity should be present at school on various levels.

When it comes to the physical space, this aim may be obtained e.g. by displaying posters and illustrations showing various scripts and grammar structures of the native languages spoken by the students.

Also, if not first of all, by creating miniature dictionaries and labels in various languages, which not only demonstrate that these languages are accepted and valued, but also may serve as useful study aids for all students, both migrant (to easier acquire the majority language) and local students (to grasp some phrases in their colleagues’ native languages).
